Cobot Machine Tending: The Ideal Place to Start Automating

Date: Tuesday, June 8th, 2021

Time: 11:00 AM Eastern Time

Sponsor: Universal Robots

Duration: 1 Hour

Summary:

Machine tending requires a person to stand for long hours in front of a CNC, injection-molding, or other similar machine and tend to its operational needs. The process is boring and tiresome for a human operator, which makes it ideal for automation. Not by coincidence, machine tending is the most popular use for collaborative robots. For those of you looking to set up a machine tending automation cell with cobots, or those seeking tips on how to improve your machine loading operation, this webinar will be time well-spent!

Presenters from Universal Robots and VersaBuilt Robotics will share how easy it is to set up a machine tending application that can help you shift employees to more value-added tasks while improving your overall productivity. You’ll see:

  • What makes collaborative robots safe and easy to take over your machine tending
  • Why machine tending is a good first application for automation
  • Real-world examples of cobots tending CNC machines in high-mix environments
  • New, next-generation technology that loads machines from bins
  • Steps to get started with implementing a machine tending robot
  • Considerations for machine tending in high-mix environments
